Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode, has reacted to a statement credited to former Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi(rtd) about ex-President, Olusegun Obasanjo.

Bamaiyi, in his new book, “Vindication of a General” had disclosed that Obasanjo kept him incarcerated for eight years not because he opposed his emergence as civilian President in 1999 but for fear of been overthrown.

The former Army Chief also disclosed that the acclaimed winner of the June 12, 1993 Presidential election, MKO Abiola did not die of natural courses while in detention.

In his book, Bamayi, who was the the Army Chief during the government of former Military Head of State, Gen Sani Abacha challenged an ex-Head of State, Gen Abdulsalami Abubakar(rtd), to tell Nigerians what killed Abiola.

Reacting to Bamaiyi’s claim, the former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Presidential campaign in the 2015 election, noted that rather than rubbish Obasanjo, the ex-Army Chief should disclosed those who killed Abiola, ex-President Shehu Yar’Adua and Omotehinwa.

In a tweet on his twitter handle, @realFFK, the PDP Chieftain wrote: “Instead of attempting to rubbish OBJ, Bamaiyi should tell us who killed MKO Abiola, Sani Abacha, Rear Admiral Omotehinwa and Shehu Yar’adua”
